Reuniting with Jr High School Friends

It is hard to believe that 24 years has past since the three of us has seen each other. While at Penny's house having a wonderful dinner with her husband Donnie (another Jr High friend) and Stacy, we all sat there catching up on so many years but really it was like we were never apart. It was so funny when one of us would mention a name and we all laughed and said "Oh my that is a name I haven't heard in a long time" The night went by so fast, we said we have to get together again real soon and I am hoping it happens. Thank you Donnie for a wonderful dinner, you are an awesome cook and Thank you Stacy and Penny for a great evening.

Welcome Sheila

I am very excited to introduce my first team member.

Sheila booked a workshop from me at a scrapbooking event I did at Ivy Tech. She held her workshop on Saturday and decided then to join Stampin Up! as a hobbyist demonstrator. She really loves the products and wanted everything in the catalog. After talking with her through emails she decided she wanted the discount.

Wishing you the best Sheila!!!!!!

Make and Take Thursday 05-21-09

CONGRATULATIONS EMILY

Last nights make and take was down in attendance by five due to Emily graduating from high school. Thinking about her graduating, made me think "I need to make her a card" So that was what I chose to do for Make and Take Thursday. Isn't this the cutest card? I love it!

The seven of us in attendance had some good laughs trying to figure out the school colors that they were needing to make their cards. We got the biggest chuckle with Erin's colors she was needing. She text someone back at home (in Holmes County) when the text came back with the answer we all laughed at her face "orange and brown" she said. After all the laughing and making fun of the colors the card actually turned out really nice. She put in on white card stock.

Decorating a Picture Frame

I found this neat shadow box picture frame at Ikea for about $10. The frame is 9x9 and it comes with a white mat. I took the mat and covered it with a piece of 12x12 Stampin Up! paper from the Raspberry Tart Designer Series Paper Pack (#113975)

For the Month of May you can buy 3 packs of any 12x12 textured paper packs or designer series paper and get the 4th one FREE.

The flowers are Stampin Up On Board Chipboard covered in the more Raspberry Tart DSP. I used chip board that is already retired but other really cute flowers are available. You can find the On Board Chipboards on pages 182-183 in the Spring and Summer 2009 Idea book.

Emily's name SU! On Board Chipboard again this time covered in Stampin Glitter. Fine Supernova (#114287)
Other items used was Kiwi Kiss ribbon, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink and Rose Red card stock and the 1/2" circle punch
It was a lot of fun making this frame but actually very difficult for me since I am not use to doing any girlie pages.

RSVP Winner.....

Congratulations Jen B !!!!!! This is what you have one. Thank you for your RSVP.

We are up to 12 people coming to National Scrapbook Day. YEAH!!!!!! This is going to be a GREAT DAY!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Thursday's Make and Take we made these really cute Mother's Day flowers. They are the same flowers Coleton wanted a dozen of for his teacher. They are really easy to make and takes only a couple of supplies needed. You can use any 12x12 paper, a couple of circles punched from Stampin Up! wonderful punches and glue. It was funny to see every one's eyes get really big when I started telling them how to make them. It is even more funny to hear them telling me how many more they made when they got home. I am glad the group loved them and is taking what they have learned from me and producing more of them.
I hope every one is out enjoying the awesome weather we are having today and was able to share it with the people we love the most.

I am looking forward to the next Make and Take Thursday. Mark your calendars for May 21 from 7-8

Relay for Life

Our Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop had a team participating in Northmont's RELAY FOR LIFE (for cancer awareness). I have one word to describe the evening "WOW" OK another word "TOUCHING". To have the pack and troop stand there and salute all the survivors for the survivor lap really gave me goose bumps. My boss Joe Litvin and a friend Mary Jane Maston were two of the survivors that I knew walking in the survivor lap. After the survivor lap ended the boys and I took the track to walk our 1 hour scheduled walk. Coleton found the luminary of Dr Michael Bowers (his eye doctor) that died last year and we had a luminary for Emily (If you are not sure who Emily is, I have a posting about her in my blog) Once the sun had set the luminaries were lit by the boy scouts and again WOW and TOUCHING! The boys and I are really glad we participated in this event and we are really looking forward to doing it again next year.

The Flowers That NEVER Need Watering

Coleton thought these flowers was the coolest thing and wanted to make some for his teacher's gift. So I found this really cute coffee cup to put SOME in. When I showed him the mug he loved it and I said we can put about 5-7 flowers in it, well he had another idea he wanted 12. My eye's got big and I know it showed "are you crazy!". We all know whatever our kids want (as long as it is not too expensive or dangerous) our kids get, so I let him pick out the paper and I made 12 flowers for him.

When he came home of camping over the weekend I had it completed. He LOVED it. It was what he was wanting. So now I hope Mrs. Johnson has just as big of a smile on her face when she gets it as Coleton did when he seen it.
Note to Mrs. Johnson----THANK YOU for everything you have done for him. We all know he is not the easiest boy to handle but he could have not done these past 2 years without you. You are a blessing and good luck with your retirement.
