Stinkin cute?

I am pretty proud of myself. I am not a big flip flop wearer but I am getting a pedi on Tuesday from my friend Jen (if you want her to do yours too she will. Get a hold of me and I will hook you up.) so I can wear these.

These were so easy to make.

I bought the flip flops at Hobby Lobby but you can get a pair anywhere. I used the daisy die cut and hot glued them all together. I used the hot glue to attach the button on top and attached it to the shoe.

This weeks Make and Take

I am loving the new Sizzix Die Cut for the Big Shot. (of course I do not have a mini catalog in front of me to get the name of it---I will edit this post later) I think it is fabulous and a must have! Supplies used--

Key ring

I think this is the cutest project (I know I think everything is cute). I seen this made on a stamping site that I go to for demonstrators only. I absolutely fell in love with them. I think this is what we are going to make at my catalog reveal night in July. (Sorry you have to wait so long but I think that will be the most appropriate night to make them.)

If you get brave and want to attempt one ahead of time they are really easy

Big Shot Flower

What do you think? I think they are the coolest thing. What will I do with it? Umm not sure yet. I am thinking of making it a pin to wear, add it to a barrette, an embellishment to a picture frame, the possibilities are really endless. You tell me what you would do with it! I think it is to big to add to a scrap book page or a card.

To make this flower you need the daisy die for the Big Shot and a Big Shot. You need to cut 4 large daisy flowers, 3 medium daisy and 1 small one. Club members will be making one of these in class, if you would like to join us for the class cost is $5 or FREE with any order the night of club. Club this month will be Tuesday May 17 at 7 (normally it is the second Thursday of every month. Need to change this month due to kids end of year school event) Please let me know if you are able to make it to class so I have enough supplies ready.

Mother's Day Card

Looking ahead to this new week, I am going to be doing a couple things differently for myself (a long time coming) I am excited to be posting on a Monday and I have several pictures of projects in my blog folder to post over the next few day so I hope you check back often to see what I have posted.

Today's project was what I had made for Mother's Day. One section of it has a little bit of EMBOSS RESIST on it. If you are asking how did I do that, well here is general instructions.

The first part is take a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and emboss it with Clear Embossing Powder. I know this picture does not show much but you can somewhat see where I embossed the whole sheet.After the piece is embossed I took a sponge and ink and inked right over the embossed image. The ink will not stick to the glossy embossed part but will stick to the Whisper White Card Stock.

After you cover the piece of paper with ink take a paper towel to wipe off excess ink.

Duct Tape Card

Anyone who know Coleton well enough knows he is my "Duct Tape Specialist" This boy has just about every color imaginable and is wanting to make everything out of it. His specialties are his rose bouquets. He came up with a clever idea to add duct tape to a greeting card, how clever is that. The cards he created turned out very cool and the pictures really do not do them justice.When he made these we used what they call duct tape fabric (that is where you put 2 pieces together so no sticky is felt). We ran them through the Big Shot using the Top Note Die and decorated from there. I told him after to that I would just put the tape on card stock and run it through that way we can use regular Snail adhesive to attach the cut out instead of Sticky Strip. Plus we would save duct tape since you will never see the other side of it. I can not get this picture to rotate (just tilt your head and you will see it laying correctly) I love this duct tape. I think it looks so Stampin Up. We (I) matched up the edges using wax paper so it wouldn't stick before making the fabric and we used plain grey on the back. Again if we would have thought about it, I would have just attached it to cheap cardstock since the tape gives it stability and really all you are doing is covering up the sticky part. I kept it pretty simple right now but I will do more with it shortly (I couldn't get anything to really strike me the night we were making these.). I am sure we/he will be using other dies to make more cards.

I am back...

When I signed on to here I did not look to see when I last posted...I am way to embarrassed but it is not like I was being lazy and just didn't post- it was...well I just didn't take the time to post. I have had Make and Takes all winter along with club so why didn't I take a picture of the project and post it on here??? uuuummmmm I wish I could answer that without saying lazy but I am trying really hard to come up with another word to use because I really don't consider myself lazy, I got the word I am thinking of...Distracted! I am going to blame it on Facebook, mom, dad, work, Science Olympiad, Scouts and sleep.

Over the winter months quite a bit has happened in my crazy world.

1.I have started dating a wonderful guy-I have known Daryl for several years and a year ago he bought my dad's towing business, as several months had went by with us just chit chatting a relationship developed around November. All is good despite both of our very crazy schedules and he is VERY SUPPORTIVE of my stamping obsession. He knows what I want to do with my stamping business and he is really encouraging me to go for it. With that being said here I am again, posting my first blog in months.

2. Coleton has been competing all winter with Science Olympiad. We have been every where, from Centerville, to Zanesville to Solon back to Dayton to compete at Wright State then off to West Liberty, lets not forget our trip to Piqua then to Columbus for State. If he was not competing, he was at his coaches house building his events or at the school gym practicing. (I am going learn next year to have a card made ahead of time and take supplies with me to stamp while I am waiting and watching him--I would hate to say how many hours I have lost just "waiting")

Kelton--God love him- he has been so patient with all the competitions. I know how long the competitions are and he went to as many as he could. He is such a trooper. Next year he can join the SO team (that means more hours just "waiting" ok Nikki get your stamping stuff ready) He just finished up his 5th year of Cub Scouts and made the transition into Boy Scouts. The exciting part for me was I was able to give up scout leader shirt of 9 years. Pictures to come of crossover.

I am excited to be back to blogging and I am going to try to post before I go to bed most nights, stay tuned
